Dr. Lou Perretta

Dr. Lou Perretta

Medical Director, NW and LO clinics

Dr. Perretta is an experienced Emergency Physician who has seen the value of Urgent Care centers in helping patients with acute medical problems get care quickly and efficiently. He believes Doctors Express, in particular, is able to provide this care in a calm and caring setting. More importantly this care is comprehensive – with onsite labs and X-rays – yet only costs a fraction of the expense that a busy hospital Emergency Department will charge.

As Medical Director he oversees all of the daily operations of the centers in Portland. Dr. Perretta has been practicing Emergency Medicine in the Portland medical community for the past 25 years. He has worked at the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital as well as the Kaiser Sunnyside hospital. Dr. Perretta graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

He has served as the Medical Director of EMS for Columbia County in Oregon and currently serves as the Medical Director of the EMT program at Clackamas Community College.

Reda Bassaly

Physician Assistant

Reda grew up in Egypt where he attended and finished his degree as a DVM while he practiced as a surgeon in Egypt and UAE for three years. In addition, he served in the military as a surgeon for two more years. In 2005, Reda moved to the United States where he worked with pharmaceutical companies for a few years. Upon deciding that his passion is being a Physician Assistant, he attended Franklin Pierce University and received his Master’s degrees as a Physician Assistant in 2013.

Reda’s mission and vision is to reach out to the patient, giving time and applying his experience in resolving their concerns with reliance on evidence based medicine resolutions in a personable approach.

Reda’s hobbies include riding horses, swimming and playing music. Reda is married and has a son.

Dr. Davis Cho

Dr. Davis Cho is boarded in family practice and has been working in the ER/”Fast Track” of San Antonio Community Hospital in southern California for the last 16 years. Prior to that he spent 4 years practicing Family Medicine. Dr. Cho grew up in southern California and went to USCLA for his undergraduate program. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo and did his residency at the Riverside General Hospital in California.

Bryan Copas

Bryan Copas

Physician Assistant

Bryan Copas is a nationally certified Physician Assistant with more than 20 years of experience in Emergency, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine.  His medical education started when he joined the Army in 1989 and served as a Field Medic in Texas, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and California.  After an honorable discharge and working as an EMT in the emergency department at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, he graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry.

Bryan was promptly accepted to the Saint Louis University Physician Assistant Program and since graduating in 2002, he has been a licensed and nationally certified Physician Assistant practicing Emergency, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine in Illinois, Missouri, Colorado and now Oregon.  He brings a unique perspective to Doctors Express because of his varied experiences and fund of knowledge.  He is an empathetic and compassionate health care provider that brings a high level of discipline, focus and professionalism to everything he does.

Dr. Sue Lewis

Dr. Sue Lewis has been a primary physician since 1997. She is a graduate of OHSU and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She enjoys providing the full scope of primary care services with a particular interest in women’s health care. Dr. Lewis believes in a holistic approach to medicine and feels that a patient’s emotional well being is closely tied to their physical well being. She is also a believer of preventative medical care in order to maximize her patient’s health and well-being. Dr. Lewis especially loves caring for families. Her hobbies include traveling, music, reading and quilting.

Dori Mcdonald

Dori Macdonald

Dori’s interest in medicine started with a volunteering position she had at a women’s health center. Post this experience she enrolled and graduated from the PA program at Duke University.  In addition she has a Women’s Health Certificate from UCLA.

Dori Macdonald is Board certified by the NCCPA and comes to us with 30+ years of experience as a medical provider, with about 20 of those years at Kaiser, in primary care and urgent care.  Prior to Kaiser she worked in various other practices providing women’s health services including Ob/gyn.

Dori and her husband have two dogs and they enjoy the outdoors when has free time.

Dr. Kenneth Melvin

Dr. Ken Melvin’s interests are in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. Dr. Melvin received his undergraduate degree from University of Oregon and his medical (and surgery) degree from Otago University Medical School in New Zealand.

He further received specialty training in pulmonology at England’s St Thomas Hospital and in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland. He then returned to complete residency training and Board Certification in internal medicine in 2003 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Portland and had been in private practice until August of 2012, when he decided to join the Doctors Express team.

Bill Princen

Dr. William Princen

Dr. Bill Princen has been an Emergency Medicine physician for the past 35 years, practicing mainly in rural hospitals on the Oregon Coast.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. He did his Internship in San Francisco. He was Board certified in Emergency Medicine in 1984.

He has taught college EMT and Nurse training programs and ran a county-wide Emergency Medical Service. He has traveled worldwide as a cruise ship physician.

He is the father of four, and his youngest are twins.

His interests, when he is not seeing patients at Doctors Express, are writing, photography, woodworking, nature, and travel.

Vandana Rana

Dr. Vandana Rana

Dr. Rana has been practicing medicine since 1987.  Her clinical interests span urgent care, primary care and public health.  Dr. Rana received her medical degree from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India.  She did her post graduate work and residency at OHSU in public health and Preventive Medicine.

Her philosophy of practice is to treat each patient as you would treat your own family.  Dr. Rana loves the friendly environment, teamwork and compassionate care patients receive at Doctors Express.

Art Ticknor

Dr. Arthur Ticknor

Dr. Art Ticknor practices medicine at Doctors Express and One Community Health in the Columbia Gorge. Prior to moving to Oregon Dr. Ticknor practiced medicine in upstate New York for 12 years.

He received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Colgate University and his M.D. from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He completed a residency in Family Medicine in Rochester. Dr. Ticknor was a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal for two and a half years.

Dr. Ticknor enjoys working with families of all shapes and sizes – and believes in the importance of creating long-term relationships with patients based on trust. A father of three, he is a fan of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team, and enjoys studying U.S. history, swimming, hiking and skiing.

Veronica Thompson

Through her 18 years of experience within the healthcare industry, Veronica has developed a deep passion for the medical field. Her focus lies in motivating and encouraging her staff members towards professional growth and development. She is a dedicated and ambitious healthcare professional who values excellence in patient care, quality of services and outstanding patient relations.

Veronica received her Bachelors of Arts in Community Health from Portland State University and is a Concordia University graduate with an MBA in Healthcare Administration. When she is not at work Veronica enjoys spending time with her very active family.

 

Maura Anderson

Assistant Clinic Manager

Maura is a long time resident of Portland, whose extensive experience in customer service and intrinsic pursuit to better the lives of the people around her have brought her into the medical field.  Her desire to help others and explore global communities began by working in a government-run Centro de Salud on the Caribbean coastline in Honduras.

Following that experience, she studied a variety of subjects at PSU, culminating in a Spanish degree.  Her interest in language and its ability to expand relationships has led her to understand and appreciate the diverse and ever-changing community which we call home.

Katy has been a dedicated Doctors Express team member since 2011. She loves the friendly environment, teamwork and compassionate care patients receive at Doctors Express. She has a strong ability to motivate and inspire her staff towards excellence. Her passion for the medical field comes from her desire to help others. In her free time Katy enjoys spending time with her rambunctious kids. 

 

Linda Stone

Assistant Clinic Manager

Linda Stone started with Doctors Express in 2013 as a Certified Medical Assistant and limited X-ray Tech. She became a lead MA in 2015 and most recently the Assistant Manager of our Lake Oswego clinic.

Linda has been in the service industry for over 30 years and enjoys working with people.

She was born and raised in Oregon and has 4 older brothers. She enjoys camping, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Lead Medical Assistant & Lab Coordinator

NJ came on board Doctors Express in 2013 after completing her externship with Doctors Express. She loves working with patients in an urgent care setting. She is also the Lab Coordinator for all 3 Doctors Express clinics.

 

Wendi Cha

Lead Medical Assistant & Supply/Inventory Coordinator

Wendi has been working for Doctors Express for 2 years. She started at Doctors Express as an extern from Heald College and is a NE Clinic Lead Medical Assistant as well as our Supply/Inventory Coordinator. When she is not at work, Wendi enjoys exploring the outdoors and loves cooking.

 

Tasha Mikesell

Lead Medical Assistant & Training Coordinator

Tasha is as driven as she is dedicated. At the age of 21 she owned and ran her own care giving company for four years after which she decided to go back to school to pursue her Medical Assistant degree. She externed at the NW Doctor’s Express clinic where she was hired on before completion. After almost a year, Tasha was promoted to Training Coordinator where her role is now training medical providers, assistants, and extern students. When she isn’t working, she likes to do outdoor activities and spend time with her family.

Amanda Pinard

Amanda Pinard

After graduating high school in 2009, Amanda began attending PCC before transfering to Pioneer Pacific College. She began her medical career with medical assisting courses for a year before advancing to limited x-ray and associate classes. She began as an extern with Doctors Express before being hired on as a full time employee three months later. After a year and a half Amanda still loves the challenge of the work, and the opportunity to practice with a diverse array of medical needs.

Cindy began working in the medical field in 2011. After completing her externship with Doctors Express, she continued to learn alongside her co-workers and providers in delivering exceptional care for patients.

Cindy enjoys working in an urgent care setting, due to the variety of injuries, and ailments that patients present with. She hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and growing with Doctors Express.

Wendy graduated from Heald College with a degree in Medical Assisting. She enjoys working for Doctors Express, along side of her amazing co-workers, because she loves the work we do helping our patients. She has a passion for helping people and has a strong sense that this is the work that she is meant to be doing. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her kids either at their sports activities or just out having fun with her family.

 

Andrew Hagemann

Andy moved to Oregon in 2013 after completing a Bachelor’s in Integrative Physiology at the University of Colorado in Boulder. He began his path in medicine as a Medical Assistant and aspires to further his career as a Physician’s Assistant. Andy enjoys the exciting pace and variety of patients in an urgent care setting and loves to learn every day. In his free time, he enjoys racing road and mountain bikes as well as exploring the outdoors with his fiancée.

John McKey

John McKey

After a distinguished military career – where he served in many operations and earned a Commendation medal from the Governor of California – John decided to go back to school to follow his calling to be in healthcare.

He earned his Associate in Science, Certification in Medical Assisting, Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician, and a licensed Limited X-Ray Tech from Pioneer Pacific College, graduating #1 in his class. John is currently enrolled at PSU as an undergraduate in the Pre-Med program.
