Dr. Lou Perretta

Dr. Perretta is an experienced Emergency Physician who has seen the value of Urgent Care centers in helping patients with urgent medical problems get care quickly and efficiently. He believes Doctors Express, in particular, is able to provide this care in a calm and caring setting. More importantly this care is comprehensive – with onsite labs and X-rays – yet only costs a fraction of the expense that a busy hospital Emergency Department will charge. As Medical Director he oversees all of the daily operation of the centers in Portland.Dr. Perretta has been practicing Emergency Medicine in the Portland medical community for the past 25 years. He has worked at the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital as well as the Kaiser Sunnyside hospital. Dr. Perretta graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago. He has served as the Medical Director of EMS for Columbia County in Oregon and currently serves as the Medical Director of the EMT program at Clackamas Community College. Dr. Perretta is committed to providing efficient, high quality healthcare at a reasonable price for people needing urgent medical care.

Dr. Vandana Rana

Dr. Rana has been practicing medicine since 1987.  Her clinical interests span urgent care, primary care and public health.  Dr. Rana received her medical degree from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India.  She did her post graduate work and residency at OHSU in public health and Preventive Medicine

Her philosophy of practice is to treat each patient as you would treat your own family.  Dr. Rana loves the friendly environment, teamwork and compassionate care patients receive at Doctors Express.

Dr. Kenneth Melvin

Dr. Ken Melvin’s interests are in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. Dr. Melvin received his undergraduate degree from University of Oregon and his medical (and surgery) degree from Otago University Medical School in New Zealand. He further received specialty training in pulmonolgy at England’s St Thomas Hospital and in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland. He then returned to complete residency training and Board Certification in internal medicine in 2003 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Portland and had been in private practice until August of 2012, when he decided to join the Doctors Express team.

Dr. Laura Mellick

Dr. Laura Mellick came to Doctors Express with 20+ years of experience in the Adventist Hospital system. Dr. Mellick puts great emphasis on a patient centric approach to medical care.  She grew up in New York, but has been a Portland resident for 20 years. She received her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and did her residency in Emergency Medicine at the Loma Linda University Medical Center. Prior to becoming an emergency physician Dr. Mellick was a physical therapist. While at Adventist she held leadership positions at Willamette Emergency Physicians and California Emergency Physicians. When she is not working on patients Dr. Mellick likes to immerse herself in arts and craft and is currently pursuing a post-baccalaureate program in fiber arts at the Oregon College of Art and Craft.
