Dr. Lou Perretta

Dr. Lou Perretta

Medical Director, NW and LO clinics

Dr. Perretta is an experienced Emergency Physician who has seen the value of Urgent Care centers in helping patients with acute medical problems get care quickly and efficiently. He believes Doctors Express, in particular, is able to provide this care in a calm and caring setting. More importantly this care is comprehensive – with onsite labs and X-rays – yet only costs a fraction of the expense that a busy hospital Emergency Department will charge.

As Medical Director he oversees all of the daily operations of the centers in Portland. Dr. Perretta has been practicing Emergency Medicine in the Portland medical community for the past 25 years. He has worked at the Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital as well as the Kaiser Sunnyside hospital. Dr. Perretta graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Illinois in Chicago.

He has served as the Medical Director of EMS for Columbia County in Oregon and currently serves as the Medical Director of the EMT program at Clackamas Community College.

Dr. Tedd Levin

Dr. Tedd Levin

Medical Director, NE Clinic & Primary Care

Dr. Tedd Levin is a graduate of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, and completed residency training in both Family Medicine and Preventive Medicine at the University of Arizona, in Tucson. He is board certified in both Family Practice and Preventive Medicine. Prior to his MD he graduated from the U.S. Public Health Service Physician Assistant program.

Dr. Levin is comfortable taking care of newborns to geriatrics, routine physicals, Pap smears, management of hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, anxiety, depression, common musculoskeletal and dermatological problems, minor surgery and travel medicine.

Dr. Levin was in private practice in SE Portland for 27 years. Most recently he was part of the  JBT Student Health & Wellness center at OHSU.  In the past he also worked part-time for Adventist Medical Center Wellness Services.  Dr. Levin is currently serving as the Center Physician for the Springdale Job Corps.  He enjoys teaching students and has served as a preceptor for the Principles of Clinical Medicine course, Family Medicine clerkship, and Physician Assistant clerkships.

He lives in Gresham with his wife. They have three children, two of whom are pursuing careers in Oregon, and the youngest daughter who is a university student. His outside interests include hiking, travel, and art.

Jenna Barlow

Jenna Barlow received her Physician Assistant degree from St. Francis University in Pennsylvania. Jenna was part of the family medicine practice at Kaiser in Longview for 10 years before branching out into urgent care and private practice in various locations in WA and OR. In addition to working clinically Jenna has also had various administrative responsibilities like case management and being a primary care clinical lead.

While not at work Jenna tries to spend all her time with her daughter.

Bryan Copas

Bryan Copas

Physician Assistant

Bryan Copas is a nationally certified Physician Assistant with more than 20 years of experience in Emergency, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine.  His medical education started when he joined the Army in 1989 and served as a Field Medic in Texas, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and California.  After an honorable discharge and working as an EMT in the emergency department at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, he graduated from Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in Chemistry.

Bryan was promptly accepted to the Saint Louis University Physician Assistant Program and since graduating in 2002, he has been a licensed and nationally certified Physician Assistant practicing Emergency, Urgent Care and Occupational Medicine in Illinois, Missouri, Colorado and now Oregon.  He brings a unique perspective to Doctors Express because of his varied experiences and fund of knowledge.  He is an empathetic and compassionate health care provider that brings a high level of discipline, focus and professionalism to everything he does.

Dr. Sue Lewis

Dr. Sue Lewis has been a primary physician since 1997. She is a graduate of OHSU and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. She enjoys providing the full scope of primary care services with a particular interest in women’s health care. Dr. Lewis believes in a holistic approach to medicine and feels that a patient’s emotional well being is closely tied to their physical well being. She is also a believer of preventative medical care in order to maximize her patient’s health and well-being. Dr. Lewis especially loves caring for families. Her hobbies include traveling, music, reading and quilting.

 

Dori Macdonald

Dori’s interest in medicine started with a volunteering position she had at a women’s health center. Post this experience she enrolled and graduated from the PA program at Duke University.  In addition she has a Women’s Health Certificate from UCLA.

Dori Macdonald is Board certified by the NCCPA and comes to us with 30+ years of experience as a medical provider, with about 20 of those years at Kaiser, in primary care and urgent care.  Prior to Kaiser she worked in various other practices providing women’s health services including Ob/gyn.

Dori and her husband have two dogs and they enjoy the outdoors when has free time.

Dr. Kenneth Melvin

Dr. Ken Melvin’s interests are in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care. Dr. Melvin received his undergraduate degree from University of Oregon and his medical (and surgery) degree from Otago University Medical School in New Zealand.

He further received specialty training in pulmonology at England’s St Thomas Hospital and in Emergency Medicine at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland. He then returned to complete residency training and Board Certification in internal medicine in 2003 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Portland and had been in private practice until August of 2012, when he decided to join the Doctors Express team.

Bill Princen

Dr. William Princen

Dr. Bill Princen has been an Emergency Medicine physician for the past 35 years, practicing mainly in rural hospitals on the Oregon Coast.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. He did his Internship in San Francisco. He was Board certified in Emergency Medicine in 1984.

He has taught college EMT and Nurse training programs and ran a county-wide Emergency Medical Service. He has traveled worldwide as a cruise ship physician.

He is the father of four, and his youngest are twins.

His interests, when he is not seeing patients at Doctors Express, are writing, photography, woodworking, nature, and travel.

Vandana Rana

Dr. Vandana Rana

Dr. Rana has been practicing medicine since 1987.  Her clinical interests span urgent care, primary care and public health.  Dr. Rana received her medical degree from the Government Medical College in Aurangabad, India.  She did her post graduate work and residency at OHSU in public health and Preventive Medicine.

Her philosophy of practice is to treat each patient as you would treat your own family.  Dr. Rana loves the friendly environment, teamwork and compassionate care patients receive at Doctors Express.

Art Ticknor

Dr. Arthur Ticknor

Dr. Art Ticknor practices medicine at Doctors Express and One Community Health in the Columbia Gorge. Prior to moving to Oregon Dr. Ticknor practiced medicine in upstate New York for 12 years.

He received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy from Colgate University and his M.D. from the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York. He completed a residency in Family Medicine in Rochester. Dr. Ticknor was a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal for two and a half years.

Dr. Ticknor enjoys working with families of all shapes and sizes – and believes in the importance of creating long-term relationships with patients based on trust. A father of three, he is a fan of the Buffalo Sabres hockey team, and enjoys studying U.S. history, swimming, hiking and skiing.

Kathy Reed

Kathy comes to Doctors Express after spending 10 years running a well known Ambulatory Surgery Center in the Portland area. She gained great experience running all the administrative aspects of this center, and reporting back to a corporate set-up. I am particularly excited about this as we expand to more clinics this year and next. Prior to that Kathy ran a specialty clinic at the Legacy Good Sam and worked in an Ob/Gyn clinic. Kathy has an accounting degree from University of Portland.

Veronica Thompson

Veronica comes to Doctors Express after running a very successful Dermatology clinic for the last 3 years. Prior to that she worked in many different medical practices holding roles from receptionist to Patient Care Coordinator and everything in between! She has a BA from PSU, and will be completing her MHA later this year.  When she is not busy at work she is spending time with her husband, Jimmy and two beautiful toddlers. They love being outdoors so they can wear their kiddos out so they sleep through the night.

Katy Jenkins

Katy came on board Doctors Express in 2011 after completing her externship at our Lake Oswego center. She loves the friendly environment, teamwork and compassionate care patients receive at Doctors Express. Katy is looking forward to helping Doctors Express grow and add more locations in the near future. She is now the Assistant Manager of the NW Portland center.

Amanda Pinard

Amanda Pinard

After graduating high school in 2009, Amanda began attending PCC before transfering to Pioneer Pacific College. She began her medical career with medical assisting courses for a year before advancing to limited x-ray and associate classes. She began as an extern with Doctors Express before being hired on as a full time employee three months later. After a year and a half Amanda still loves the challenge of the work, and the opportunity to practice with a diverse array of medical needs.

Ashlee Crawford

Ashlee attended Concorde Career College in 2013 to become a Medical Assistant. Shortly after her ex-tern she was hired on at the Doctors Express NE Clinic. in 2014 she was promoted to become the Lead Medical Assistant. Ashlee Continues to Advance in her Medical Career, just recently completing her Limited X-Ray Certification at Pioneer Pacific College.

Cindy Farfan

Cindy Farfan

Cindy began working in the medical field in 2011. After completing her externship with Doctors Express, she continued to learn alongside her co-workers and providers in delivering exceptional care for patients.

Cindy enjoys working in an urgent care setting, due to the variety of injuries, and ailments that patients present with. She hopes to continue expanding her knowledge and growing with Doctors Express.

John McKey

John McKey

After a distinguished military career – where he served in many operations and earned a Commendation medal from the Governor of California – John decided to go back to school to follow his calling to be in healthcare.

He earned his Associate in Science, Certification in Medical Assisting, Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician, and a licensed Limited X-Ray Tech from Pioneer Pacific College, graduating #1 in his class. John is currently enrolled at PSU as an undergraduate in the Pre-Med program.
